Michael brings more than 25 years of experience in communications, employee engagement, and online community building. As Managing Director at CoLabL, he works closely with founder and CEO Dan Horgan and oversees the company’s day-to-day operations and communications. He leads the work across brand, marketing, the website, and the CoLabL Connect community, connecting design, technology, and business to help CoLabL grow.

At CoLabL, Michael has helped engage more than 25,000 participants across in-person and virtual programs, contributing to a 98% average recommendation rate. He built and grew an online network for over 2,500 early career professionals, giving them a place to connect, learn, and find mentorship. In a single year, that community saw a 568% rise in comments and a 92% increase in active users. He also led the effort to certify CoLabL as an LGBT Business Enterprise through the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce, a milestone that reflects the company’s commitment to belonging.

Before CoLabL, Michael spent two decades building digital experiences for large enterprises. At Alcoa, he grew the global employee portal from a handful of sites into a network of more than 260 communities across five continents. At ETRADE, he rose to Director of Digital Communications, led a creative team, and directed the transformation of four separate applications into a single intranet that became one of the company’s top-rated employee tools. He also co-founded ETRADE’s LGBTQ+ employee resource group and helped the company earn a perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for the first time. His earlier work at Fannie Mae supported national homeowner outreach in partnership with the U.S. Treasury.

Michael holds a BFA in Visual Communications and an associate degree in Computer Information and Communications. A creative and strategic leader at heart, he believes the best results come from putting relationships at the center of the work, the same belief that drives everything CoLabL does.

Michael currently resides in Southern CA.
