Connecting Canadian Youth to Mentors and Opportunity with Mentor Canada

Mentor Canada partners with CoLabL to design and facilitate the Power of Mentoring campaign, a nationwide series of experiences connecting youth ages 18 to 24 to mentors, employers, and career opportunities across Canada. Together, we create spaces where young people build relationships, strengthen skills, and gain exposure to the world of work.

Through virtual, in-person, and hybrid events, CoLabL brings together youth, mentors, and employers including Deloitte, Starbucks, RBC, and the Greater Toronto Airports Authority. Each event features facilitated career conversations in small and large group settings alongside skill-building activities focused on networking, communication, goal setting, and personal branding.

Participants leave with a deeper understanding of the practical skills needed to navigate today’s labor market, greater awareness of the future of work, and clearer pathways aligned with their academic, career, and life goals. Running since February 2020, the campaign reflects Mentor Canada’s commitment to expanding access to mentorship at scale and CoLabL’s belief that relationships drive change.

“When you come out to a Power of Mentoring event, you’re getting exposed to all sorts of career pathways that you probably never even imagined before.”

“I learned that people are a lot more caring, and people look out for others a lot more than what I originally thought. So it’s not just you against the world.”
